چکیده
Climatic Research Unit temperature version 5 (CRUTEM5) is an extensive revision of our land surface air data set. We have expanded the underlying compilation monthly records from 5,583 to 10,639 stations, which those with sufficient be used in gridded set has grown 4,842 7,983. Many station also been extended or replaced by series that homogenized national meteorological and hydrological services. improved identification potential outliers these better capture during reference period; avoid classifying some real regional extremes as outliers; reduce trends outlier counts arising climatic warming. Due updates, shows increases density changes anomalies. Nonetheless, global-mean timeseries only slightly modified compared previous versions conclusions are not altered. The standard gridding algorithm comprehensive error model same for version, but we explored alternative removes under-representation high latitude stations. estimated warming about 0.1°C over course whole record. 1861–1900 mean last years 1.6°C using (with a 95% confidence interval errors on individual annual means ?0.11 +0.10°C recent years), while gives change 1.7°C.

Evaluation of MODIS Land Surface Temperature Data to Estimate Near-Surface Air Temperature in Northeast China
Air temperature (Tair) near the ground surface is a fundamental descriptor of terrestrial environment conditions and one of the most widely used climatic variables in global change studies. The main objective of this study was to explore the possibility of retrieving high-resolution Tair from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) land surface temperature (LST) products, cove...
متن کاملDiurnal Air Temperature Modeling Based on the Land Surface Temperature
The air temperature is an essential variable in many applications related to Earth science. Sporadic spatial distribution of weather stations causes a low spatial resolution of measured air temperatures. This study focused on modeling the air diurnal temperature cycle (DTC) based on the land surface temperature (LST) DTC. The air DTC model parameters were estimated from LST DTC model parameters...

In this study, the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Land Surface Temperature (LST) Environmental Data Record (EDR) was evaluated against snow surface (T-skin) and near-surface air temperature (T-air) ground observations recorded at the Cooperative Remote Sensing Science and Technology Center—Snow Analysis and Field Experiment (CREST-SAFE), located in Caribou, ME, USA during the ...
متن کاملUrban Surface Biophysical Descriptors and Land Surface Temperature Variations
In remote sensing studies of land surface temperatures (LST), thematic land-use and land-cover (LULC) data are frequently employed for simple correlation analyses between LULC types and their thermal signatures. Development of quantitative surface descriptors could improve our capabilities for modeling urban thermal landscapes and advance urban climate research. This study developed an analytic...
متن کاملDevelopment a split window algorithm to estimate land surface temperature from Sentinel -3 satellite data
Land Surface Temperature (LST) is an important indicator of the study of energy balance models at the earthchr('39')s surface and the interactions between the Earth and the atmosphere on a regional and global scale. To date, different algorithms have been developed in the last few decades to determine the land surface temperature using various satellite images. In this study, a new split window...
